COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Shaw’s community outreach encompasses non-profit agencies, health and wellness, education, youth, the environment and disaster relief, along with strong support in the communities where our employees live and work.
United Way Shaw is a major supporter of United Way in the many communities in which the company has manufacturing facilities.
Youth The company provides meaningful charitable support (for both capital projects and operating expenses) to a broad spectrum of agencies which are involved in youth services, such as Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCA, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in the various communities where Shaw has facilities.
Education Shaw is a major annual contributor to universities, colleges and scholarship funds, regionally and nationally. The company provides a variety of support in cash and product to local area schools, with emphasis on local area educational foundations which supplement the work of secondary school systems. Also, Shaw provides significant support to business education and experience for young people.
Health The company makes a significant annual commitment to numerous health care institutions and organizations, both at the local, regional and national level, including American Cancer Society and American Heart Association.
The Arts Shaw is a significant supporter of the visual and performing arts, particularly in the small local communities where the company's manufacturing facilities are located.
Athletics As a strong believer in teaching competitive spirit to young people, the company provides broad-based support to area youth athletic programs in secondary schools and in community recreation programs in the various communities where Shaw has facilities.
The Environment Shaw is a leading corporate sponsor of The Nature Conservancy's environmental research and water quality improvement initiatives on the upper and middle sections of the Conasauga River in northwest Georgia and southeastern Tennessee.
Disaster Relief The company contributed significantly to the American Red Cross for 9/11 Relief and to the Hurricane Katrina Recovery Effort.
Beyond Donations – Community Involvement
